Kinship

More scobys are adopted, a mother brings her son and he loves touching them. Jatun Risba, who has developed a language of kinship is wondering if scobys can grow letters and we think about it together. A new scoby always takes on the shape of its container so if you have a container in the shape of a letter or a word, it will indeed. Or speaking in the language of kinship: ki will indeed. We consider having something 3d printed or build something out of glass but to keep it simple and do a first quick experiment, we find a different way by cutting letters out of a plastic circle that will float on top of the liquid. We pack the jars in rough wool to speed up the process and Jatun also takes some scobys to use in the production of masks. More about their work here.
